Kayleigh Myer Named a Winner of the 2017 Leslie Sander Writing Contest

2017 May 4

Bard College at Simon's Rock recently announced the winners of its 2017 Leslie Sander Writing Contest. This is the twenty-first year for the contest, sponsored in conjunction with the College's Tutoring and Writing Center.

Kayleigh Myer, a senior from Mount Marion, NY, received honorable mention in the Short Fiction category for their piece entitled "He Told Me That I Really Did It, I Really Made The Male Body Unimportant".

The annual contest, a memorial to Simon's Rock alumna Leslie Sander '87, celebrates the achievements of our gifted writers. Students have six weeks to submit a piece in one or more of five categories: Personal Essay, Expository Essay, First Year Seminar Essay, Short Fiction, and Dramatic Writing. A panel of faculty and staff judges each category entry.

Myer entered college after completing the 10th grade at Woodstock Day School.
